I was trying to think of a way to make Katy's performance from Tuesday night into a writing analogy, but whatever.
The show was so good and Katy is a blast. I think this is the best concert I have been to! My friend Britt brought me and we drove 3+ hours from West Michigan to The Palace of Auburn Hills (where the Pistons play).

It was so much fun! I can't wait for Katy's next tour.
Dude! I thought I liked her before, now I love her! I need to go to a Katy Perry concert! Too bad I live in BFE :c
ReplyDeleteWow--so many costume changes! It looked AWESOME. I think that the writing analogy, is that it took Katy a really, really long time to break into the music industry (even though she is so young, still), and she had two record deals fall through. Two. Fall through. Which is pretty tough to handle, I would think.
ReplyDeleteAnd yet, she kept trying, and didn't compromise her voice. And now, there she is. :)
Also, she started singing as a Christian rock (or Christian folk--I can't remember exactly), which wasn't the right genre for her voice. And she didn't know until she tried other things. :)
Keep writing, explore other genres, and don't ever compromise your voice for the MAN. That's the lesson learned. :)
Oh my gosh, looks so fun!!
ReplyDeleteAlso, oh man, Heather, I didn't know her history - very interesting!! Makes her song Firework that much more stupendous! :)
That looks like a blast! You had awesome seats! Katy must have had a costume change for every song!!! She's a cutie.
ReplyDeleteI love concerts! They rejuvenate me.
And excellent analogy, Heather!!

These photos make me smile!!! I'm so glad you got to experience her magic, and man, I love the shimmer on the tights she's wearing. Where can I get those? Britt is one lucky girl...I bet the drive was fun, too.
ReplyDeleteI love Katy Perry. She's so pretty and her music is so fun (my kids get really annoyed when I sing her songs, in the car where they can't escape, loudly).
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome that your pictures turned out so amazing. My pics from Lady Gaga's concert were not nearly as clear and very fuzzy.
ReplyDeleteNot just anyone could pull off those outfits!

I need a button candy leotard. As well as the ability to pull it off and the cojones to try it. She rocks. Glad you had fun!!! <3
ReplyDeleteKatie throws candy and Jared spits blood and/ or backwash... *SNORT* LOL!
ReplyDeleteWow, what an amazing concert. More like a production! Your pics turned out great, even though that guy's head made it hard to get shots! I didn't know Katie's history either. That is an excellent analogy, Heather. I guess that long drive was worth it.
ReplyDeleteThere you have it! Great recap in pics. And I love learning more about her too.I agree with Anita, Britt's lucky.
ReplyDeleteI love her costumes.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
OMG it looks like you had great seats! How cool, I love Katy Perry.
ReplyDeleteWow, that doesn't just look like a concert. It's a show. I can't imagine not having fun there.
ReplyDeleteHave a great 4th of July weekend!
