Bad Timing

I tend to think of my best posts on a Friday afternoon. I write them, feel super good, and then post. But no one reads blogs from 1:00pm Friday to 6:00am Monday. So, my brilliance goes unread.

Posts on deck are Down the Drain: Where My Ideas Go and This Staircase Reminds Me of the 30,000 Words I Need to Write by the End of June.

The staircase:

Which view do you prefer? From the bottom of the staircase or looking down from the top?

The photos are from the state park down the road.

  1. I prefer the first view. Bottom looking up. Daunting... but motivational?? Maybe?

  2. I totally understand about Friday posts. I've been thinking about my post all day and started to write it and then remembered it's Friday so I decided to save it to Monday.
Seeing these staircase pics makes me think of one of the things I was writing about.
I like the picture looking up the staircase but I think that it can also be nice to look down the staircase and see how far you've come.

  3. I know! I hate those Friday posts and there's like one person who responds. Who are these people who have lives and don't comment on the weekends?

    The photos are great...very moody.

  4. RESPONDING! I prefer the one looking down. But that's because my lazy arse can't handle walking upstairs so the first one is exhausting. :)

  5. Write it and then set it to post Monday morning. :)

  6. I have lots more time on the weekends, so I write all my posts ahead of time and schedule them. Unless I happen to have a busy weekend and have to put one together at the last minute (thank goodness for Youtube).

  7. I post when I post and figure they'll read it when they read it lol. definitely the bottom looking up. Top looking down makes me dizzy.

  8. I always prefer looking up. You might occasionally step in a little dog poop, but at least you won't miss out on a good view of the sky. :)

  9. These photos are so cool. I prefer the one looking up, mainly because the photo seems to have more depth to it. I'm sure the staircase looks pretty awesome at the top in person. What a great setting for a scene.

Thanks for the heads up about Friday posts. I haven't done that, but it never would have occurred to me that people would be too busy on the weekends. Guess I need to get a busier life? Haha! Hope you meet your goal by the end of summer. I have an end of summer goal, too.

  10. Both are great! But I think I like the bottom-up because of its representation of your journey. :)

  11. Stylistically I like the second one. Symbolically, one would be the better option. ^_^

Why don't you write all your posts on Friday and schedule them for the rest of the week?

  12. Love the stairs! I've got a similar view from where I stand. Wear good shoes!

  13. I like the first pic better and I DO read posts on friday/sat/sun because I often have more time, ie, not working. so post away :)

  14. I like the first one because the shadows add contrast and illuminate the stairs. Shadows illuminate? I really need some coffee. :) What am I doing, posting on a SUNDAY?

  15. Good luck with your goal. I like both for different reasons. Looking down to see where I have to go and up to see what I accomplished.

FYI, I'm interviewing Elana Johnson today to celebrate her debut. Hope you'll stop by.

  16. Looking down seems easier ... but looking up's more honest, I think.
