February 1st is Unofficial Post a Photo of Your Work Space Day

Before I get to the goods, go check out Anita's workspace AND give Heather's blog an overview. She alludes to the "sekrit" project.

One year ago I posted a photo of the office, complete with some delectable venison stew. It was less than a month after I'd started blogging and I took fifteen photos in an effort to get the best one possible. This year, as a seasoned blogger, I took two and did not do anything in preparation for the shoot. I was even too lazy to get a camera and just used my phone.

Before you look at the photos, there are a few things to keep in mind: I am channeling my characters (teenage boys), I am a student, and I have not been working in this space lately (you'll see why).

I should feel ashamed, but I don't.

  1. Now, THAT is the workspace of a creative mind. No reason to feel ashamed at all, so it's good you don't. :)

  2. I love this view--because you look so collected and neat and organized when we skype. What else are you hiding? And, how did I forget about this? I might have to update my post.

  3. Ha ha ha! I should feel ashamed but I don't. :)
Jon, I am so not the best housekeeper and when family would come over, my mom would wonder why I wasn't embarrassed my house was messy. I said, "You all know how I am!" I didn't care! Though now I have to care since we are showing our house and I've learned to be quite the domestic diva I guess...

  4. I think a mess indicates you're too busy writing to clean. Right? Right? At least that's what I tell myself when the mountain of to-be-folded laundry climbs up my wall and I avoid touching it because I need to write just one more scene...

  5. I love it, Jon. As the mother of a teenage boy, you have the room down to the ground.

  6. Jon, I see why you don't work in that room. The wallpaper is atrocious! Robb :)

  7. It seems a little cluttered for me but I think if you feel comfortable there then you no one else's opinion matters.

  12. Ah, such is life. We've all BTDT! Oh, well. At least *I* have. :D

It's fun seeing people's spaces. I'm too lazy to even take the picture/upload it/post it. See how I am? Next time. WARN me. You know how out of the loop I am.

  13. If my husband wasn't such a neat freak, that is exactly what my whole house would look like.

  14. Ha! I love it! Whatever gets the creative juices flowing, I say. I often write on my bed. I have two office spaces in this house, and I WRITE ON MY BED!! What is wrong with me? Ah well, you can't help how, when, and where you get inspiration. Plus, I'm all about the comfort.
